What is Eucalyptus Combi Plywood?

Eucalyptus combi plywood combines eucalyptus veneers — dense, strong and widely planted — with poplar plies to balance weight and cost. The panel is hot-pressed twice, which improves flatness and bonding compared with a single-press panel of the same thickness.

This is the grade most commercial projects land on: strong enough for structural use in dry conditions, flat enough for direct lamination, and priced well below all-birch. It is the panel we ship most often to distributors serving contractors and shopfitters.

Why buyers choose our Eucalyptus Combi Plywood

Double pressing is visible in the flatness

A second press cycle costs us money and saves you callbacks. Panels stay flat across the sheet, so laminated faces do not telegraph and cabinet doors do not twist.

Strength between poplar and birch

Eucalyptus brings density and screw-holding without birch's price. For dry interior structural work it is the pragmatic middle.

Available to 30 mm

Thick sections are useful for built-up furniture, workshop tops and heavy-duty shelving.

CE and ISO documentation

Declaration of Performance and ISO 9001 certificates can be issued with the shipping documents for EU-bound consignments.

Frequently asked questions

What does 'combi' mean in plywood?
Combi means the core uses more than one species — usually eucalyptus for strength and poplar for weight and cost. It is not a lower grade; it is an engineered balance, and combi panels often outperform single-species poplar at a similar price.
Is eucalyptus combi plywood waterproof?
With WBP phenolic glue it is water-resistant and suitable for humid conditions and occasional wetting. For continuous water contact or repeated pours, film faced plywood is the correct product.
How does it compare with birch plywood?
Birch is denser and has a cleaner, more uniform face, which is why it commands a premium for visible furniture. Combi is the better value where the panel will be laminated, painted or hidden.
